ERIC HYNYNEN
Eric Hynynen (pronounced hoo-noo-nen) is a visual artist living in Boorloo (Perth).

After completing a Bachelor of Science and working in related fields in Perth, Eric relocated to Finland to pursue his interest in art. Hynynen was accepted in to the highly regarded Finnish Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki, where he earned his Master of Fine Arts.

Drawing from Eric’s years residing in Finland, his work is informed by Nordic minimalism.

Hynynen works across painting, video and installation and is best known for his bold, thought provoking paintings, as well as his Canvascape series of abstract, sculptural works. His practice focusses on capturing a humanity that connects people with art.

Eric’s works are exhibited in galleries and film festivals nationally and internationally, his films and paintings have won multiple awards. Eric's commissions have included large scale public work, his paintings are held in both public and private collections.

I am delighted that my work Nothing to See Here is part of The Casablanca Project, which features in the Feb/March 2025 issue of Belle Magazine. With thanks and congratulations to the incredibly talented team at Sherwood Design. Sherwood won the residential house category at the prestigious Society of British and International Design (SBID) Awards 2024, with their interior design project Casablanca.
